Kessié

Juventus Reignite Interest in Franck Kessié Ahead of January Window

Start

Juventus are reportedly once again exploring the possibility of signing Franck Kessié as they prepare to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming January transfer window.

Calciomercato report how the Bianconeri management have been looking closely at the Saudi Pro League, where two former Serie A stars currently play — Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Franck Kessié. Both players’ contracts with their respective clubs expire on June 30, 2026, but it is the Ivorian who appears to be drawing the strongest interest from Turin.

A product of Atalanta’s youth system and a former AC Milan midfielder, Kessié left Barcelona for Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023 for a fee of around €12.5 million. Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has made 87 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 9 assists. During his time there, Kessié has won both the AFC Champions League and the Saudi Super Cup.

Now 29 years old, the Ivorian international also holds an Italian passport, meaning he would not occupy a non-EU squad slot — a detail that further increases his appeal. However, his current salary, reportedly around €14 million net per season, remains a significant obstacle.

Should Kessié decide to return to Serie A, a substantial pay cut would be necessary to make a move back to Italy viable. Past interest from Inter, Roma, and Fiorentina suggests that the midfielder would not be short of options should he choose to come back.
