Juventus Transfer Outlook: Chiesa, Tonali and the Midfield Puzzle

Start

Juventus head towards the January transfer window with renewed confidence. The league table, if not exactly smiling, at least shows signs of encouragement, while Luciano Spalletti’s impact is already visible. This has prompted the Bianconeri to plan actively for the winter session, looking to fine-tune the squad and stay firmly in the race at the top of Serie A. What once seemed like a quiet transfer window could now turn into a busy one — both in terms of arrivals and departures.

Tonali: A Summer Dream, Not for January

IlBianconero report that the prospect of Sandro Tonali joining Juventus this January remains pure speculation. Financially and logistically, the deal is deemed impossible mid-season. However, the Italian midfielder is very much in the club’s long-term vision. Come summer, Juve could explore the feasibility of bringing him in to strengthen their midfield, making him one of the top names on their future shopping list.

Gonçalo Garcia: No Deal in Sight

Rumours linking Real Madrid’s young midfielder Gonçalo Garcia with Juventus are unfounded. The Spanish club have no intention of letting him go, and there have been no contacts or discussions between the parties to suggest a move is being considered.

Chiesa and a Possible Homecoming

A more intriguing situation surrounds Federico Chiesa. The Liverpool winger is reportedly keen on a return to Italy, which could open the door for Juventus to weigh up a reunion. While not viewed as an immediate starter, Chiesa could be an option as a rotational player — potentially taking up a supporting role behind rising star Kenan Yildiz. The club’s management are actively assessing suitable profiles for that position.

Frattesi Still on the Radar

Davide Frattesi remains a name that commands broad approval in Turin — including from Spalletti himself. Inter, however, are reluctant to lower their asking price. A potential deal could hinge on complex negotiations involving young striker Muharemovic, with Juventus owning 50% of his future resale rights. It’s far from straightforward, but the Bianconeri are ready to explore the possibility if favourable openings arise.

Guido Rodríguez: The Low-Cost Option

Guido Rodríguez has been proposed to Juventus as a cost-effective reinforcement. For now, his profile fits the typical early-window shortlist — a low-cost, low-risk name under observation, with no major moves or commitment yet from the club.

Norton-Cuffy Monitored Closely

Among younger talent, Juventus continue to keep tabs on Genoa’s right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Seen as a potential investment for the future, the Englishman could also serve as a useful addition to Spalletti’s tactical rotations in the short term.

Perin’s Future Between Turin and Genoa

Mattia Perin’s situation remains unresolved. Juventus have not granted the go-ahead for his departure, valuing his leadership within the dressing room and his role as deputy goalkeeper. Genoa, keen to bring him back, already have a preliminary agreement with the player, but the deal is far from done. The ongoing Champions League commitments, the lack of an immediate replacement, and Carlo Pinsoglio’s injury all complicate matters.
