Juventus Unveil Fourth Kit Inspired by 1996/97, Set to Debut Against Como

Start

Juventus have officially unveiled their new fourth kit for the 2025/26 season, a striking design inspired by the 1996/97 campaign and characterised by bold horizontal stripes. The shirt will make its on-pitch debut in Juventus’ match against Como on 21 February.

The new kit was revealed across the club’s social channels and then in detail on the official website. The design takes its cues from a lesser-known chapter of Juventus history, when the club experimented with a horizontal interpretation of the iconic black and white. That shirt never featured in an official match, but nearly three decades later the concept has been revived and brought to life on the pitch.

At the heart of the project is a three-way collaboration between Juventus, adidas and Studio Sgura. The idea is to explore what happens when tradition and vision move in the same direction, reimagining the famous stripes while preserving their core meaning. The design blends past and present, combining the classic black and white palette with clean lines, carefully balanced proportions and a strong, confident visual identity typical of Studio Sgura. The result is a shirt that lives halfway between the pitch and contemporary fashion, bridging performance and lifestyle.

One of the standout features is the return of the long-sleeved shirt, a silhouette deeply rooted in football culture and here reintroduced with a modern twist. Built on a polo-style base and made from polyester, the new jersey aims to balance comfort, structure and character, making it suitable both for high-level competition and everyday wear.

The inspiration drawn from the 1996/97 season is more than just aesthetic. That period is remembered as a time of courage, innovation and a willingness to challenge convention, values that Juventus seek to reconnect with through this kit. By bringing those horizontal stripes onto the pitch at last, the club underlines its desire to honour its history while continuing to evolve its identity. According to adidas, the fourth kit is designed to “look to the past to shape the future”, offering a fresh, fashion-conscious reinterpretation of one of football’s most recognisable looks.
