Maurizio Scanavino Steps Down as GEDI President to Focus on Juventus Role

Scanavino

Maurizio Scanavino has announced his departure as president of the GEDI publishing group to dedicate his full attention to his role as CEO of Juventus FC. The decision was formalized in a press release from GEDI, owned by EXOR, the Agnelli-Elkann family holding company that also controls the Turin-based football club.

GEDI, one of Italy’s leading media conglomerates, oversees prominent outlets such as *La Repubblica* and *La Stampa*. Scanavino’s exit marks a strategic shift for both organizations, as he transitions from steering GEDI through a period of digital transformation to prioritizing Juventus’s sporting and operational challenges.

Leadership Transition at GEDI

Paolo Ceretti has been appointed as GEDI’s new president, bringing extensive managerial experience in the media sector. The board expressed gratitude to Scanavino for his leadership in modernizing the group into an innovative digital media company.

Scanavino’s Legacy and Future

In his parting statement, Scanavino thanked colleagues and stakeholders for their support, calling his tenure at GEDI “an honor and a privilege.” His departure underscores the growing demands of his role at Juventus, where he aims to balance on-field success with long-term sustainability.
