Fabio Miretti’s future remains in black and white. The Juventus midfielder, born in 2003, will not be leaving the club this January — at least according to his father, Livio Miretti, who spoke to Tuttosport to dispel the latest transfer rumours surrounding his son.
“I don’t think he’ll move in January; he doesn’t want to leave,” said Livio Miretti. “There’s been a lot of talk, but nothing truly concrete.” His comments come amid speculation about a potential loan or transfer for the young midfielder, who recently found the net in Juventus’ recent matches against Sassuolo and Bodø/Glimt.
“Spalletti Is Delighted with Him”
Livio Miretti also revealed that Italy coach Luciano Spalletti is pleased with Fabio’s development: “Spalletti is very happy; he even feels sorry when Fabio doesn’t get to play much. But he believes in him and knows he’s already an important player,” he explained.
The midfielder’s father added that neither Juventus nor the player have considered a departure, reinforcing that a move would not make sense at this stage of his growth. “If he hadn’t played a single minute, it would be another story. But now he’s improving, so there’s no reason to leave. Juventus never told him in August that he would be sold, and I don’t think it will happen now. I’m very happy he’s staying.”
An Evolving Role in Allegri’s System
Within Luciano Spalletti’s revamped 3-4-2–1 setup, Miretti is carving out a solid role behind the striker, effectively playing as a number 10. His flexibility, however, continues to make him a valuable option in multiple midfield roles.
“The coach asks me to play between the lines, something I’ve always enjoyed doing, so I feel comfortable,” said Miretti after the match at the Mapei Stadium. “I’m available and ready to help the team.”
