OFFICIAL: Cristiano Giuntoli Departs Juventus

Start

Juventus and Cristiano Giuntoli have officially parted ways, ending the tenure of the now former Managing Director of Football. The club and Giuntoli reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, which was originally set to run until 2028.

This decision signals a significant shift for Juventus, as the club ushers in a new chapter with the appointment of Damien Comolli as the new General Director. Comolli will report directly to CEO Maurizio Scanavino and work closely with Giorgio Chiellini, indicating a fresh strategic direction for the club’s management team.

The move comes after two years of Giuntoli’s leadership, during which the club’s ownership, under John Elkann, determined that the results did not meet expectations. As a result, the decision was made to relieve Giuntoli of his duties and move forward with a new management structure.

Alongside Giuntoli’s exit, Juventus also confirmed that Francesco Calvo has resigned from his role as Managing Director of Revenue & Institutional Relations, effective June 16, 2025, to pursue a new professional opportunity.

As of today, neither Cristiano Giuntoli nor Francesco Calvo hold any shares in Juventus. The club’s official statement emphasized that the decision to part ways with Giuntoli was reached after a thorough joint assessment of future prospects and mutual needs.
