Juventus have officially confirmed the signing of Swedish defender Emil Holm. The 25-year-old right-back joins the Bianconeri on loan from Bologna until 30 June 2026, with an option for the move to become permanent.
Born in Gothenburg, Holm developed through the youth ranks at IFK Göteborg, making his Allsvenskan debut at 19 and amassing 42 senior appearances for his hometown club. In January 2021, he moved to Denmark to join SønderjyskE before arriving in Italy in the summer of 2022, signing for Spezia and making his Serie A debut.
From Sweden to Europe’s Elite
Holm spent the 2023/24 season at Atalanta, where he featured 32 times and was part of the squad that lifted the Europa League title. A year later, he joined Bologna, continuing his rise in Italian football. With the Rossoblù, Holm impressed thanks to his versatility, physical attributes, and strong attacking contribution — helping the club secure the Coppa Italia in May 2025 after defeating Milan in the final.
To date, Holm has played 74 Serie A matches, recording four goals and ten assists. He also made his Champions League debut earlier this season, representing Bologna at Europe’s highest level.
Transfer Details
Juventus announced that the agreement with Bologna involves a free loan deal until June 2026. The Bianconeri also hold an option to make the transfer permanent for €15 million, payable over three financial years. The total could rise by up to €3 million based on performance-related bonuses during the player’s contract.
A New Chapter in Turin
Holm now embarks on his latest adventure with Juventus, joining as a valuable addition to the defensive unit and providing tactical depth for the coaching staff. His athleticism, work rate, and experience in Italian football make him a strong reinforcement for the squad’s right side.
