Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini has spoken about the club’s current priorities, addressing the future of head coach Luciano Spalletti, midfielder Weston McKennie, and other key matters surrounding the team. In an interview with Sport Mediaset, Ottolini outlined the Bianconeri’s plans for upcoming contract renewals and shared his view on the team’s recent performances.
Renewals of McKennie and Spalletti
With the transfer window now closed, Juventus is shifting its focus back to contract discussions. “Now that the market is over, we can focus on renewals — that’s exactly what we’re doing,” Ottolini explained. “We’re very happy about Yildiz’s extension. Regarding McKennie, we’re continuing our talks. As for the coach, he’s already expressed himself, and we’re truly pleased with his work. We’ll sit down in the next few weeks.”
Both renewals are seen as central to Juventus’s long-term project under Spalletti, who has quickly established a strong influence on the team’s identity and style of play.
Juventus’s Current Momentum
Speaking about the club’s form, Ottolini expressed satisfaction with how the team is evolving, even amid occasional dips in results. “Sometimes the results come, sometimes they don’t,” he admitted, “but we’re extremely satisfied with how the team is expressing itself. We must continue with confidence in the direction we’ve chosen.”
His comments reflect a calm and strategic atmosphere inside the club, which appears committed to steady development rather than quick fixes.
No Striker in January
Ottolini also confirmed that Juventus deliberately chose not to sign a new striker during the winter window. “We had certain financial parameters to respect,” he said. “If the right conditions had been in place, we would have moved, but for various reasons, that wasn’t possible. We’re confident in the players we already have and will move forward with great belief in them.”
