Spalletti Calls for a ‘Kolo Muani-Type’ Striker: Inside Juventus’ Transfer Push

Start

Juventus have returned to the transfer market with a clear awareness that, with only a week left in the window, there is still work to be done. The emphatic 3–0 victory over Napoli has strengthened both confidence and team identity, but the club’s intentions remain focused: exploring new opportunities, particularly in the attacking department — as Giorgio Chiellini recently emphasised.

Tuttosport (as quoted by IlBianconero) report that one such opportunity was Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, yet lingering doubts from the player’s side led Juventus to issue an ultimatum and ultimately consider the negotiations closed. The situation left the club unimpressed, especially after sporting director Marco Ottolini’s recent efforts to accelerate talks.

With that chapter drawing to a close, Juve will continue to monitor other targets. Meanwhile, Luciano Spalletti has discussed the need for a new forward and, according to reports from Tuttosport, has specifically requested a striker “in the style of Kolo Muani”.

Juventus’ Attacking Strategy

Director of Football Strategy Giorgio Chiellini has outlined the club’s cautious approach to the market. Juventus are not aiming for permanent deals at this stage, preferring loan arrangements with an option to buy — a formula they had already agreed with Fenerbahce for a potential move.

The watchword remains “opportunity”. For that reason, the Bianconeri have not reignited serious talks for Jean-Philippe Mateta, although the Crystal Palace striker could resurface as a late-market possibility — albeit not under the current financial conditions set by the Premier League club.

A Striker with Kolo Muani’s Profile

Following the En-Nesyri complications, conversations between Spalletti and the club reportedly turned toward finding a particular kind of forward. The Italy coach, even after the Napoli match, highlighted the impact of physicality and versatility when comparing players like Jonathan David and Rasmus Højlund.

According to Tuttosport, Spalletti used Randal Kolo Muani as a benchmark — a dynamic, modern forward who can quickly adapt to new systems and make an immediate contribution. While a direct move for the Frenchman appears unrealistic, the message is clear: the Juventus coach wants a mobile, intelligent striker capable of integrating seamlessly and adding depth to the side’s attacking play.
