Weston McKennie insisted that “what matters is only winning” after his brace helped Juventus to a resounding 5–0 victory over Cremonese at the Allianz Stadium.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after full time, the United States midfielder reflected on the importance of maintaining momentum in the Serie A title race.
“It was an important game for the three points; the teams ahead of us had dropped some,” McKennie said. “Winning 5–0 is always nice, also for the fans. My positions on the pitch? For me it’s normal — I’m always available for the team. What matters to me is only winning, helping the team move forward. It’s always nice when you can help, but what counts is winning.”
Fellow midfielder Khephren Thuram echoed McKennie’s determination, turning his focus toward consistency and the club’s European ambitions.
“As I said last week, we always play to win,” Thuram noted. “We take it day by day and will see where we are at the end of the season. It’s a very important month — we have many matches, also in the Champions League, and Benfica is fundamental for us.”
