Lucca

Juventus Eye Lorenzo Lucca: Giuntoli’s First Moves and a Transfer Battle with Napoli

Start

Lorenzo Lucca, the 24-year-old striker who has impressed with Udinese this season, is attracting significant interest from Juventus. Teh clubs sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has been monitoring Lucca for months, even making an approach during the January transfer window. At that time, Udinese refused to let their star striker leave, but the situation could change this summer with Juventus ready to renew their pursuit.

Tuttosport report (as quoted by IlBianconero) that Lucca’s profile fits what Juventus is seeking: a classic center-forward with a strong presence in the penalty area, capable of holding up play and finishing chances. This season, Lucca has made a name for himself with consistent performances, scoring 13 goals and providing 2 assists in 35 appearances. His development has not gone unnoticed, earning him call-ups to the Italian national team and raising his market value to around €22–30 million.

Napoli Also in the Race

Juventus are not alone in their interest. Napoli, under Antonio Conte, has also set their sights on Lucca. Conte publicly praised the striker after a match between Napoli and Udinese, highlighting Lucca’s qualities and suitability for his tactical approach. However, Napoli’s focus appears divided, as they are also pursuing Jonathan David from Lille, which could give Juventus an opening to move ahead in the race for Lucca.

Transfer Dynamics and Negotiations

Udinese are known for being tough negotiators and values Lucca highly, with estimates ranging from €22 million to €30 million. The club prefers to negotiate at the end of the season rather than in January, and any deal will likely require a significant offer. Juventus has already established contact with Lucca’s agent and will continue to scout the striker closely, as evidenced by a club scout attending Udinese’s recent match against Monza, where Lucca scored a standout goal.
