Another departure from Juventus has been confirmed, as Italian defender Daniele Rugani completes a move to Fiorentina. The 31-year-old centre-back leaves Turin after more than a decade with the Bianconeri and will now continue his career in Florence.
Rugani, who had been sidelined in recent weeks due to injury, is ready to return to action — this time wearing the Viola shirt. The move marks a new chapter for the experienced defender, who will be looking to regain rhythm and consistency in the second half of the season.
The Official Announcement
Juventus and Daniele Rugani part ways once again. After spending last season on loan at Ajax, the defender has joined Fiorentina on a temporary deal for the remainder of the campaign.
During the first half of this season, Rugani made eight appearances for Juventus across Serie A and the Champions League. Those matches brought his total official outings for the Bianconeri to 157, placing him fourth among current squad members for appearances — behind Dusan Vlahovic (162), Weston McKennie, and Manuel Locatelli (both on 213).
A Juventus player since 2012, when he first arrived on loan from Empoli, Rugani became a permanent signing the following year. Across more than ten seasons in Turin, he has accumulated over 150 matches, interspersed with loan spells at Empoli, Cagliari, Rennes, and most recently Ajax.
Transfer Details
Rugani joins Fiorentina on a paid loan worth €500,000, with an obligation to buy set at €2 million should the club maintain its Serie A status for the 2025/26 season.
